Advanced Portolio Evaluation- Question 3

From my audience feedback I learned about the expectations of my audience and what they expected to see if my products were to be successful in the post-apocalyptic genre. I learned what was appealing to my target audience and what would be effective promotional tools to entice them. My focus group results suggested that there was improvements that were needed to be made to both my poster and trailer. This helped to improve my promotional package and enhance the way my audience would respond to it to make it the best it could be. Audience feedback played a pivtol role in the creation of my promotional package and it has realy helped to inform my decisions along the way.

Half Term Update

When editing our footage I decided to make it easier my filtering through each shot, making sure we had the most effective shot for the trailer and then renaming it so I could drop it in more quickly and it would definitely be the best shot.

Background Poster Pictures
These are photos I took of the sky as my background photo that I will layer in. I wanted the sky to look disturbed and I think these images capture that. However, at the bottom of each image there is a little but of light that I think will make the poster more interesting and when I position my main character in front will represent that the light rises with her.
I edited the one on the left to be darker, I'm now going to place both onto a simple document with my billing block and title and see which one is more effective.

I placed both my pictures along with the billing block and title on one page to see if they worked. I then wanted to see what picture was more effective. B in my opinion was too light and almost pretty looking which isn't what I want to achieve. C however, is more dark and mysterious and the title stands out better on the darker background.

Movie Magazine Analysis
Things To Take Away:
My favourite masthead was 'Total Film' I though that the way they put the total in the F was very clever and I'd like to mimic this in my own title.
My favourite image was 'The Hunger Games' I liked the way the background helped develop the narrative and I think it really added to the cover, artistically. I also think it makes the reader more interested when the background helps to showcase the film and it also make the cover more eye-catching on a shelf, making you want to pick it up and purchase it more.
I didn't like the way Premiere used such a formal structure, everything was very much the same and I feel that it made it all a little boring to a reader.
When I create my own cover I want to definitely include a multi-media platform as I feel this is really important in this day and age. I also want to include a wide variety of fonts as I think this makes the cover look a lot more interesting and exciting for an audience.

30/01/16- First Shoot
I feel like the symbols worked really well. I did all 3 in under 5 minutes and this photo was taken after the shoot had finished so they held up really well.
We ended up changing locations on the day due to dangerous driving conditions so went to Goytre Wharf.
However, this ended up being really good and worked out well. The change of location actually enhanced the look we were going for and we have now decided that we will use this location again in different lighting as the scenery there was really good.
Next shoot on an outside location will be on the 5/02/16. We've decided to do this shoot straight from school with again just the main characters so we can get a variety of lighting as it starts to get darker.
